I really enjoyed River and Anastasia's story!

I kinda guessed the "reveal" from the beginning, but still loved watching it all play out! I understand River's thought process with not wanting to approach Anastasia because she was with his frat brother, but at the same time I feel like because of the situation... did that even count?!

Anywaysss, this book follows River who is a star football player, and Anastasia who is the "odd" girl dating one of his frat brothers. Anastasia always thought River hated her because he never wanted to be in the same room as her and ignored her often. After some conversations, they realize that their longstanding dislike for each other was just a misunderstanding and the story kicks off!

I loved the balance between serious, spicy/swoon, and laughable moments. The connection that River and Anastasia formed was so fun to watch grow! From the start, you can tell River has some conflicting feelings for Anastasia, but he just isn't sure how to express them in a way that would be respectful to her. After Anastasia and her boyfriend have a very dramatic break-up, River still tries to keep his distance but soon finds that it isn't as easy as he thought.

River was such an easy character to fall for, especially because we do get to see his POV! When they make a deal to help each other out, it is clear to see that sparks start to fly between them. Their connection was plain as day and the growth in their friendship was amazing to see. I loved how easy they could be together and I loved River's interactions with his football team as well.

Great balance between spicy and banter, overall really really loved it. I can't wait to dive into the other books in the series and see the characters again.
