Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty
funny
informative
reflective
If you can't handle the topic death this book surely isn't for you. I found it super informative and great to read!
I love Caitlin Doughty's humour and writing style. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes is a beautiful memoir and gives insight about the daily work of an American mortician. But in my opinion Doughty is more than that. She really loves her job and she's also incredibly good at it. Her books are making the topic death very comfortable. It's weird sometimes to realize we all have to die someday but after reading two of her three books I feel much more calm and prepared now. It was so nice to come along with her at her job at the crematory. I learned so much and I wish we could all begin to talk more about death.
