The start was great. There was a plan and everything moved quickly. However, that changed and the book became stressful with a medium pace. Levana was absolutely despicable and delusional, and I hated reading about her and her actions. I also hated the rapey undertones of so many of the Lunars, especially Park. It was disgusting to read about and put me off.

This was on top of the fact that so many disgraceful things happened to the gang. I hated the plot (though I will admit that it was unpredictable). Cinder made so many dumb choices and it was infuriating! From surrendering to Levana to helping the Linhs, she was ridiculous and it was so unlike her. The only saving grace was that everyone lived happily to the end of their days.

I also happened to love most of the characters in the book. Winter was so sweet and adorable and I loved her story; Jacin was a smart and loyal cookie; Kai and Iko were wonderful as always; Cress and Thorne were boring once again (just communicate already); and Scarlet and Wolf were epic. Whenever the team was together, I was happy and the book was great.

To summarise, this finale was a mixed bag. There were so many parts of the series that I enjoyed but so many that I disliked, so I'd say thay the quality was inconsistent. If it was only the parts I loved though, I'd stay in this world forever.
