This book was surprisingly good. It was an easy read with a sensible plot (for urban fiction) and no noticeable editing errors. While the book mainly focuses on Suki and Cheeko, we also get a side story involving Cheeko’s sister (Simone) and his best friend/right-hand man (Nahzir ‘Nahz’). Both women’s stories parallel the fact that they’re dealing with men who aren’t built to be side piece material and want to love them out loud. Their interactions were organic, and the setup of Suki’s husband (Johnathan ‘Jinx’) as a future villain was well done. The cliffhanger had me gagged. I’m excited to read the rest of the series.
Moderate: Infidelity and Toxic relationship
Minor: Sexual content and Pregnancy
