Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage

It was light, cute.
The first half of the book really established how Luke and Emmy formed their own bond and friendship, outside of them being in the periphery as older
Brother’s best friend/best friends little sister. The tension in the almost kisses was delicious. When it broke, wow. I loved the fact they were so drawn together and on the same page.

One thing I felt was done really well, was the conflict of keeping their relationship a secret. I liked that it was Emmy who wanted to wait to share they were together. Usually it’s the guy who fears breaking bro code. While yes, that’s a factor in them actually getting together, it’s not in the secret keeping. And they really were horrible secret keepers.

And really Gus??? Ug your sister is a grown woman get over yourself. However, Gus’s characterization has me looking forward to his E2L with Teddy. That promises to be fiery.

The book was an easy cute read, but it didn’t grab me to make me devour it. I found it easy to take breaks between the chapters. I still read it in less than 24h though :)
