Reading this book after watching The Last Of Us… we really need to keep an eye out for fungi.
Things I really liked: The descriptions of rabbits and Maddie, especially after Maddie is presumed dead. I also liked the twist of the fungi becoming cognizant and wished that had been explored a little bit more.
My main issue with this book is that the build up was too slow and the solution was too fast. It seems way too easy for the guys to set fire to the house and that solves most of their issues. Not that I expected them to have to physically fight Maddie, but this book could’ve used more tension.
