Children of Fallen Gods by Carissa Broadbent
4.0
First and foremost. I enjoyed this book.
The books 1-2 have been solid and enjoyable.
My only qualms with this book was that it felt so disconnected for the first 70%. After 70% when you learn of Reshaye it makes sense why the book felt so disconnected and fragmented in its flow. It still made it semi harder to get through than book one and most people wouldn't wait 70% to continue with a book. Personally, I am not that person, but for others that may look into this series that's the warning.
Overall I'm enjoying Carissa Broadbent's writing style. I like how the story is pretty gruesome, but not over the top uncomfortable. I am invested in the story, and the characters. On too book 3!
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT DOWN.

I am emotionally torn for this series. I support Caduan in his burning of the world and I want Aefe to know love and acceptance. I also want Tissannah to burn the world down around her in order to get Max back. The utter disrespect towards Max, this crochety introvert that just wants to have a giant garden in the woods and never see people again, is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Burning his garden was my 13th fucking reason why.
