I really had a love/hate relationship with the first duology in this series because even though I loved Lennon and Macon, their story was just so rough. But I LOVED Sam's story in that story because she was that mean girl who was terrible to Lennon and bullied her and it was all over Macon. Then by the end of the first book she's standing up for Lennon and becomes her biggest ally. I normally hate redemption arcs for villains, but this one was so good, and we all knew Sam had a lot more going on than what we were seeing. We definitely catch that more in the second book, but I was dying for Sam to get a novella or something by the end of that duology and I am so proud of her book plus the cover's amazing. Honestly, I'm kind of excited for the next book. I'm curious how Benson is going to spin it but also nervous because again not everyone needs a redemption arc, and I just don't see Lennon and Claire making up but I'm curious to see how it plays out. Plus, I hope to see more updates about Lennon, Macon, Sam, and Chris through her book somehow. If you’re curious about this book you definitely need to read the duology first to fully appreciate Sam’s story because the evolution of her character starts in the first book when she’s that mean girl.
