There was a solid amount I liked about this story, but also several things I didn't like. I really liked Toni as a main character. She was interesting and fun, but there were times I wished we had even more from her perspective. It felt like Seb's perspectives took over at times. They were interesting, but his internal monologue felt more repetitive than Toni's so the excess of his perspective was not needed in my opinion.

The romantic romance was also not the biggest thing for me. It felt a little too "will they won't they", but not too bad. The platonic friendships and community building were the areas of the story I was more engaged in. I really liked all of the side story characters, and I wished there was more of them (although overall I think Axelrod did a good job of the balance there). I didn't love the pacing of the ending.
There was story I was interested in that felt like it was just glossed over, and the reason for glossing it over didn't feel very well laid out with where the ending was. If we're going to jump time and not learn what really happened with the meeting with the execs and the contracts, ending the whole book with the band just doing their first show felt abrupt.

Although overall this book wasn't my most favorite, I liked the writing style and certain aspects of the story and would be happy to read from Axelrod again.
