The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

slow-paced

3.25

I am genuinely unsure how to feel about this book. At times it took a lot of pushing to get through, which is probably why I finished it in nearly two months. Roy has such an amazing voice and it really pulled me throughout the book and kept me continuing to hear more of it. I think at times I wished for more compelling characters and someone to "root for," but I think that would make this an entirely different book and I understand the choice to deprive the audience of such a figure throughout most scenes. :(
