Inspired by a real-life flu epidemic in Moscow, To The Lake is an adventurous, emotional and challenging read. A twelve day journey from Moscow to Lake Vongozaro. 

I’ve seen the Netflix series first, before knowing it was based on a book. The show is definitely very different, there’s so many characters that are left out and the storyline not exactly focuses on the trip. However I enjoyed both the series and the novel. The book is a slower paced read keep that in mind but I was never bored while reading it. It always interesting and full of tension. To The Lake was definitely a read that will stay with me for a long time.
