This gave big Insecure–except set in West Hollywood/WeHo–energy in the best possible way (with Kenny giving Molly vibes and Zaire giving Issa vibes). It also reminded me a lot of Boys Come First by Aaron Foley because of the topics of gentrification, gay dating, aging, and starting over. Kenny and Zaire’s stories converge because they’re in the same orbit, but the way they individually played out surprised me and exceeded my expectations for a romantic-esque book.
Graphic: Grief
Moderate: Toxic relationship, Death of parent, and Abandonment
Minor: Alcoholism, Sexual content, and Pregnancy
