Lucky is an “ESP girlie” who can basically read people’s auras and see who they are at their core. But for the first time, she experiences what it’s like when someone sees who she really is when she’s introduced to paranormal TV host, Maverick (and his adorable 10 y/o daughter, Rebel). It definitely gave a PG-rated Haunting of Hill House vibe and provided some jumpscares. It delivered on the mystery and romance, but I thought the ending could’ve been more exciting and cohesive. (On Amazon the book is listed under the IR category, but it’s a Black romance–they can both say the n-word.)
