Mother of Death & Dawn by Carissa Broadbent

I enjoyed this whole series.
It was the world building, vast magical fantasy that I wanted, but without all the YA naivety. The stakes were high, the possibilities were endless, and to be honest the laws of the world didn't really apply. It was more romance heavy than I thought it would be.
Enjoyed the writing.
Loved the characters.
The wrap-up chapter at the end to talk about their futures legit increased this review by a whole star. It was a good summary and just enough to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy after a very heavy series.
My only real negative with this series was that I felt like it was almost TOO much. I felt like it was almost excessive with the level of dramatics. It was already enough to over throw the Threllian lords and deal with the Ara war side. The addition of the Fey war and THEN the addition of the "whole world is ending if we don't fix this" was alittle much for a three book series. IMO this series would have ben better either condensed to a duology OR lengthened and more details added. At some point I just felt like the books were repeating so much that I started loosing interest. One of them would get captured, the other would inevitably save them, they would be exhausted and have no magic left, but somehow always have "one last burst" to wipe everything out, one war would finish for another war to start, fighting, fighting, fighting, torture, fighting, fighting, sex, fighting fighting with roughly the same outline and execution. Granted, I finished and enjoyed the series so obviously it was well done and overall good.
