The Vanishing Season by Joanna Schaffhausen
3.0
Another random library loan after this title caught my eye in a Chirp email.
People are going missing and seemingly only one person cares to get to the bottom of what’s really going on here … that one person has lots of past trauma related to these events and … happens to be a woman in a male-dominated profession. Prepare to be very frustrated during this read, at least at first.
Domestic violence.
Police procedural.
Set in New England.
Alcoholism.
It was interesting enough that I finished it, though it was predictable and unoriginal. Not sure I feel a need to read on into the series.
3 stars.
