I liked this well enough. It had an interesting premise but I never connected with the characters or the overarching plot. The powers and shifting seemed like an afterthought and I have a lot of mixed feelings about the Virgin Mary pregnancy.
It ended on a cliff hanger and I understand why the author did that. But there were so few details to begin with it was more of a deterrent to read the next book than it was to hype me up for it.
