I think this book was just a case of "this book is not for me".
It's not one that I would have typically picked up in the first place, but I read it for a book challenge and because the NYT had recommended it.
There are lots of interesting themes at play here! Female rage and vengeance, using horror as a medium to express more real topics/thoughts. It's good, and funny even sometimes, but I'm not much of a horror reader. I found some of the scenes to be a bit too gross for me, and I'd rush through the get to another part because I didn't enjoy it. This doesn't mean that the book was poorly done or poorly written, it's just not the book for me.
