Oh my gosh if I read this as a young kid I would have been terrified! I believe it’s a middle grade read.

A group of kids best friend miraculously, shows back up after a year of being missing. He’s thrown a welcome home party where they play a game of hide and seek, which triggers a series of events that lead up to more kids going missing.

It has a horror portal world that the kids are pulled into, and they basically relive their greatest fears. It was so good! I can’t wait to re-read it to boy kiddos.
