The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett

3.0

The story was interesting enough to keep me reading to the end. However, the plot was too convoluted, and the format only hindered the story. If she had used a different writing format, maybe it would have worked better. Like a standard narration with multiple povs and then insert some mixed media documents to supplement the story. Instead we got over explained plot points and “twists,” not to mention the ending. I mean, we got a whole email where one character details everything she figured out to another character—that already knows everything!—just to be like “aha! i figured it out” and never sends it (clearly, the sole purpose was to tell the reader what happened). To me that’s kinda cheap.
