Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

TJR does not write novels.

TJR writes 365 page love letters to badass women. She makes you fall in love with them and their every last flaw. You laugh with them, you cry with them, you root for them. And by the end you’re wishing you could either BE them or MARRY them. And you’re left hoping the world sees you the same way you see Nina or Kit or June or Casey. Loyal and stubborn and loving and brave.

It is so refreshing how she lets shitty characters just be who they are with no excuses. No third act redemption, no matter how much they beg for it.

Give me a Malibu Rising movie or give me death.
