Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses by Robin Wall Kimmerer

hopeful informative relaxing slow-paced

5.0

I never cared much about moss until I started reading this book. The author's passion and love for nature, and moss, are so vivid and it reflects mine. Moments like these remind me why I wanted to study biology (but also much more). Two weeks ago I went on a walk through the woods, and I paid close attention to everything, especially moss. I even took some photos of a really cute moss I saw. This book feels like you are on a nature walk with the author, and they're telling you all these cool facts about moss life and reproduction, but you also catch a glimpse into the author's life. Reading this restored my inner peace. I wish I could have a physical copy to annotate.
