No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy

The movie is better. This is weird because the text itself is largely unchanged in the film. Saying it was faithful to the source material is an understatement.

The few differences are all improvements. In general, the story works far better in the visual medium, at least when McCarthy's contribution to it in style is so poor in comparison. It was, after all, a script turned novel turned film.

The movie is one of the best in recent times, enough has been said about it elsewhere. Watch it.

Personally don't see the point in reading this. While good it feels rather pointless. Maybe if I hadn't watched the movie this review would be different, but it's not the case. This story, as told like this, is a movie waiting to happen, and we've got ourselves one that's wonderful, so...
