The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton
4.0
Just a quick preface: I'm an a-level student who is dropping chemistry. And I found this book so engaging and gripping that my lack of biological (and scientific) knowledge didn't matter.
To read this book, you don't need to have a science degree. But you do need to have an interest. And this book, if you are interested in trying it, will grow that interest. I was hooked from the first sentence to the last word. There is nothing in this book that doesn't make you wonder and let your imagination blossom.
For me, I questioned everything. What was the cause? How can it be stopped? What will happen? Will this character survive? And this wonderment and curiosity, along with the thrill and the close calls in this book kept me hooked from one page to the other.
