I was absolutely hooked by the Appeal and could not put it down, I whizzed through the last 300 pages or so in a day I think! I just wish I’d listened to the advice of friends to read this sooner.

The style of the book drew me in so quickly with short snippets of messages and emails, whilst leaving some elements to the readers’ imagination to fill in the gaps. And I was so surprised that we were able to gain so much information about the different characters and their personalities so easily from this writing style.

I have to say there were a LOT of characters in the cast, but the character lists at different point were a big help with this. Towards the end I lost the flow a touch as we transitioned from the general messages to more solid dialogue between the two students investigating the case, but it didn’t take me too long to get back into it.

It was overall a really fun and very different approach to writing and mystery/thriller novels, but I loved it a lot, and will definitely be looking to read more from this author.
