i’ve been waiting for this book since i read “things we never got over” so i immediately bought it as soon as it hit the shelves. i’d recommend reading the first one before reading this one as it has a lot of plot details that won’t make sense if you try and only read this one. anyways, this book was definitely slow burn oh my cod. back in your typical small town romance, we see knox’s brother nash get a chance at love. it was super interesting and very real and emotional watching him trying to recover from his trauma in the past book which i won’t spoil if you haven’t read it. and it’s super realistic! with lucy score i’ve always found her work to be captivating and i can always connect on a deeper level with the characters and the plot with the language she uses (not complex language just a lot of real life stuff you know?) overall with this book i really enjoyed how the mystery/true crime aspect carried through and still had its veins running through the small town romance. i read it in 2 days and would totally reccomend. the smut ;) for those who wanna know wasn’t as prominent but when it did happen, it was defenitly good.
