This is the first book I've read by Lauren Layne and won't be the last. Broken is an emotionally packed story about a wounded Marine and the one girl who can bring him out of his self induced loneliness. This story is full of sexual tension between the modern day Beauty and the Beast. Since this books hero is a wounded vet some of the book is a little dark, but Layne wrote it in a such beautiful way that she gives you a glimpse at what life might be like after coming home from war.
