Talk about such a disappointing one to DNF. I've been hesitant to pick up this series for a while but I love watching McIntire's TikToks and have been dying to get to it at some point. Then I picked up Hooked and could not put it down and it was AMAZING! I then went straight into this one just as excited as where the last book left me but I just could not get into it. I think my biggest issue is that it's a royalty one, so we're not in the same kind of setting as the first book. We don't have all of the fun little Disney-coded things happening like we did with Hooked. Plus I just couldn't get into this royal side. So I ended up DNF'ing it. I think if it was a different time where I was reading a book a day I would've pushed through and at least finished this one but I'm struggling to finish a book period at the moment. I do want to read more in the series even though this one didn't work for me but I'm not sure when I'll circle back. I hope soon since I'm excited for Hex.
