What a wild ride! It took me until I was about halfway through the book to really get into it, but after that point I was fully invested in the increasingly bloody conflict. Everything about this book felt so rich, from the descriptions of the city, to the family dynamics, to the worldbuilding and lore. I absolutely love the clan naming system, it made the gang feel even more real and thorough. But the real standout was the family dynamic. No family is simple and the author put so much care into portraying the many angles to each character. I will definitely be continuing the series to see how the clan and its members evolve and change with the rising tide of war.
