This book was good, but not the best book I've ever read, hence the four-star rating. It was interesting that it gave Dorothy greater depth as a character and allowed me to relate to her more as a three-dimensional character with a backstory rather than just a villain who is evil just for the sake of being evil. This makes Dorothy one of the most interesting literary villains to read about, as I found myself empathizing with her occasionally, despite her many flaws. I would have enjoyed it a little more if I'd read it before reading The Wicked Will Rise, but the story is still relevant whenever you read it. Overall highly recommended.
