We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
3.0
It should be noted that this book is a modified version of a TedTalk Adiche gave in 2012. The language is fairly simple, because it was written for a speech rather than a book, and there's not a lot of in-depth feminist theory to really catch attention for me I think, but in the context it was written I think that makes sense. Fact is, in 2012 we really did have to be convincing people that feminism isn't a dirty word first and foremost, before we could discuss more interesting, in-depth facets of feminism. I did find her anecdotes about sexism in Nigeria interesting, but a lot of the book felt very gateway-to-understanding-feminism, which is fine, it just wasn't super interesting for me. But it was a nice short read and she has a great voice in her writing - I like the sense of her character you get from it.
