This book is impeccably written and researched. It's amazing. My only beef with it is unfortunately a pretty big one. This book ends in 1999 and therefore only tells half the story. It desperately needs a second volume. Part of the thesis of this book is that Vince McMahon runs our lives whether or not you watch wrestling, but we don't even get to the digital age as we know it today. You can't cover the WCW buyout, the Benoit murder/suicide, the rise of Stephanie and the fall of Shane, the creation of AEW, Linda McMahon in Trump's cabinet, in a 30 page epilogue. Part of the thesis of this book is the McMahon/Trump connection (not to be confused with the Rock 'n' sock connection), but we don't even make it to season 1 of The Apprentice in this book.
Like I said, this book is incredible. But without a second volume, it doesn't live up to the claim that Vince has unmade America. I desperately want one. I'll preorder that shit so fast. Just be prepared for an abrupt end and rushed final chapter here.
