Loved loved loved this book so much.I think I've lived in another world till few months ago because I love when I find new authors and their work sticks to my heart
It's a beautiful story set in New Orleans and it really makes me want to move in the states because the visuals that we get from the author in the books is so real that you feel in the front line next to them at the coffee shop or restaurant or bar or even on the streets.
The name of the book comes from a cocktail drink that is served at the bar where the characters met and work and I want to try one.
Avery is a pink hair young and very strong woman that leaves her long time boyfriend when he is very aggressive and tries to make a new life in another town where everything is new for her~new home to look for,new job,new friends, new plans for the future.I love her because she stands up for what she wants and doesn't quite when an obstacole intervene in her path for starting an new life.
Shaw is a bearded and tatted broken man in more ways that you could think about. He lost his first love and is trying to overcome depression and anxiety burring himself into work in owning a bar and helping the homeless that are looking for a night to spend in a worm place.
I love that we have both points of view,it helps so much to understand what happens with the characters and why they take certain decisions, the chemistry between them is amazing and the dialog is so well done that I laugh out loud so many times but also felt sad at moments when we discovered their past.
I fell for both through their pain and angst and lust and a second chance at love even if both want to protect their hearth, love comes when less expected and this book made it so clear and so beautiful written that it surely is in my top 5 of the year now.
