Wow I absolutely could not put this down. From the very minute I started reading, I was so hooked. I loved the writing style and all the characters were fascinating and believable.
It was a story of love, loss, and friendship, and it was told in such a beautiful way. It described how the pain of losing someone can impact on so many areas of life and so many different people, passing between individuals and having such a huge, widespread influence. I really don’t have words to describe it with justice, but it was a wonderful read.
The ending was left ambiguous, as in many novels like this, but I’d like to take a positive interpretation. It leaves you with a lot to think about, and the story will absolutely stick with me. Highly recommend and I will now be trying to get my hands on as much Murakami as I can.
