In the Likely Event by Rebecca Yarros

Having enjoyed Fourth Wing, I’ve been trying to check out this author’s other works. I generally read everything so her writing across genres is of no concern to me—actually, I think it’s fun when authors do this.
That said … this one was okay. It was a very typical romance read, predictable, and nothing actually happens. It has that ‘things could happen’ thing going on, there is danger … but ultimately, it’s just a romance novel.
It is very slow-paced for the first three-quarters or so of it, and therefore I sorta forced myself through some of it. It finally became interesting when the danger was introduced but then the ending was a bit underwhelming for me.
Not bad by any means. Just not gripping either. 3 stars.
Audio:
The audio was fantastic, well performed and perfect overall sound quality. 5 stars on this end.
