i think that the crows were the saving grace of this book tbh. some of the stories were hit and miss, you had your fast paced stories with loads of game references, and then there were many monster of the week stories that kinda fell flat in comparison.
it did also feel that there were one too many stories, especially when you hit eight little talons which is SO GOOD, and then the next 2 feel almost disappointing cause they have nothing to do with the crows. i would also have loved to see more of the mourn watch, as they were mentioned alot and there were characters, but we only got 1 main story in the necropolis and i just wanted to see more, even maybe an Emmerich POV story.

stories ranked individually:
three trees to midnight - 3/10 (surprised this is the story they started with)
down among the dead men - 8/10 (emmerich my beloved)
the horror of hormak - 6/10
callback - 4/10
luck in the gradens -4/10
hunger - 3/10
murder by death mages - 7/10
the streets of minrathous -3/10 (so disappointed they made neve boring)
the wigmaker job - 7/10
gentivi dies in the end - 5/10
herold had the plan - 3/10
old crows new tricks - 8/10
eight little talons - 9/10
half up front - 3/10
the dread wolf take you - 4/10
