Poignant, heartbreaking, and humanizing in its horror. This book captures so many fundamental problems with the US prison system and reflects them through the lens of dystopian sci-fi. It's extremely unsubtle, (and maybe a little rushed towards the end), but you really can't go wrong reading it.
