Parasyte by Hitoshi Iwaaki is one of my favorite sci-fi horror stories of all time! I read this for the first time back in 2010 (I believe).

Parasyte is the story of Shinichi and the parasite that takes over his right hand, Migi! The manga starts off with these aliens, in the form of these worm like creatures within a spore looking pod about the size of golf balls, invading Earth's atmosphere. These aliens came down and took over the  body of humans by burrowing into their skin and taking over their brain and neck. Our main character Shinichi was attacked by an alien the night of the invasion but he woke up during the attack, thus he was able to stop the alien from taking over his brain. The alien had no choice to only inhabit Shinichi's right hand.

Shinichi ends up giving the alien in his right hand the name of Migi, a few months after having live with and alongside it. There are other aliens in the area that keep sensing Migi and Shinichi's presence, and for one reason or another they end up having to fight several times in volume one.

Volume one was so entertaining, I'm so very happy that I decided to read Parasyte Full Color Collection. I have a phobia of aliens so this manga has always scared the crud out of me, this was the perfect read for the Halloween season!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading this, I'm rating this 5 out of 5 stars!
