The Split by Sharon Bolton

3.0

There are a lot of things wrong with the plot of this book. I gave it a reasonably high score solely for the writing which did pull me in and not for the plot, the science, the background, or the characters who were all not terribly complicated and less than accurate to their job descriptions. Police detectives do not have pink hair, especially middle aged ones. Therapists do not sleep with all their patients, at least any half way competent ones don't. They also don't miss an extremely obvious diagnosis that is staring them in the face. I guessed the entire plot almost from the very beginning but the adventure along the way was fairly compelling.

I have liked other novels by Ms Bolton so I think this was just a personal preference for me. Do with my opinion whatever you will.
