Having last read this at the age of 12 (about 13 years ago), I now remember why the YA dystopian genre became so popular. The Hunger Games is truly an iconic YA read and what I didn’t remember from my first read and the last time I saw the movies came as a nice surprise. The hype that surrounds the series, in my opinion, is definitely deserved.
