Picked this one up for The Literary 15 reading challenge as the Stella Prize nominee that was most interesting and easily accessible to me, but this author is obsessed with cringe similes. (Example: “like a puppy trying to be edgy”) I don’t get this nomination, and I won’t be sticking around to try and figure it out
