The Boss's Baby Affair by Tessa Radley
5.0
Synopsis:
Nicholas (Nick) Valentine, an Australian billionaire, is scared of his (or for his?) five-month-old daughter Jennie (what with Jilly, his wife, who is no more). And also because he is suspicious (eye colour?) that she is not his daughter. He is afraid of loving her, though he wants to very much.
Mrs. Alison Richard Timmings, his sister, hires a new nanny Candace Morrison (who is a paediatric surgery nurse by profession); when the previous one resigns on not being able to cope with a sick baby. This happened during Nick's one month absence due to business reasons, and without his say so. How does Nick react when he finds out about the new nanny? And what is it that Candace is hiding?
Review:
First book I read, and that too a part of the Billionaires and Babies Series where the so-called billionaire runs short of cash, to pay back the final instalment of the multimillion dollar loan granted by his father-in-law Desmond Perry. Into the first few pages, the eye colour descriptions pretty much reveal of what is to come later on in the story. Candace has conflicting emotions concerning Nick. While sometimes she views him as nothing less than a ruthless businessman, at other times he appears so vulnerable (because of the recent loss of his wife?). On the other hand, Nick has only feelings of desire if he so much as looks at Candace, which is obvious to the reader, since there was no love lost between him, and his late wife. Theirs was a marriage entered into under coercion on the behest of the calculative Desmond Perry.
Nick's interactions with Jennie are adorable; after he finally opens up to her. And Jennie, she couldn't have got a more loving mother-like figure (or mother?) than Candace.
But what I really want to know is who finally had to kiss Princess Piggy at the fest?
Oh, I love it when heroes finally realise things!
But I sure would have loved an epilogue, with a glimpse of their future.

Nick faced the truth of them. Jennie needed Candace. So did Catherine. And so did he. Candace brought light and sunshine into all their lives.
He loved her.
But I sure would have loved an epilogue, with a glimpse of their future.
