It’s so weird because there’s nothing inherently wrong with this story, but it didn’t feel different or unique enough to hold my attention, and I couldn’t help but keep comparing it to The Last Bookshop in London (by the same author) - which is one of my favorite books of the last decade and which I will recommend until the end of time - and it just felt flat in comparison.
