Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann

dark informative sad slow-paced

3.0

I am trying to read more non-fiction this year and was excited about Killers of the Flower Moon due to the awards on the movie adaptation. First and most important, I learned something new and it’s a brutal story buried in the history books. For me, the book was so dry. It read more like a textbook and detailing of facts, rather than something that captivated me as a reader. I am hesitant to give this less than three stars because 1) maybe that’s just non-fiction and I just don’t love it? And 2) maybe an audiobook wasn’t the best format for this one? I’m going to try some other nonfiction and maybe one day I’ll come back to this review with a new opinion, but for now, I felt the audio dragged a bit and it was hard for me to really get into the story or the characters.
