I liked the tension between the village and the Norman's, including Luc and Merewyn's enemies to lovers romance that was brewing. Their struggle to get along (personally and with the villagers and soldiers) was interesting to read.

The reason I DNF'd was because the spice was a little too much for me.

But if you like historical fiction, romance, enemies to lovers, and spice, this book is for you!
