The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia by Akira Himekawa, Eiji Aonuma

5.0

This book is beautiful and amazing! The main focus is on the newest game, Skyward Sword, which was released around the same time as the Hyrule Historia. It is mostly an art book with hundreds of sketches and concept art from every Zelda game released, and tons of extras that were not included in the final games. The most interesting section was the chronology of the games, which is not in order of release date, but how the games would be ordered if there were a timeline of Hyrule. I thought it was very impressive how they linked all the games into one giant story, even if there are a couple inconsistencies.

I personally loved this book although I'm not necessarily a huge Zelda fan (I'm more of a fan of Nintendo in general) this book made me want to go re-play the Legend of Zelda games I have played and go out and find the ones I haven't! Any collector would be thrilled to have this in their collection.
