Georgana's Secret by Arlem Hawks

4.0

I enjoyed this book by Arlem Hawks. Georgana lives on the ship her father captains in disguise as a third class ship boy named George. She went from being abused by her grandmother at home to being abused by the other cabin boys on board. Thankfully she gets to know first lieutenant Payton (or is it Peyton? I listened on audio). He helps George, not realizing who she really was.

I give this four stars only because of my preference in a story, not for the way this story was written. I don’t love mistaken identities, nor do I enjoy battles and fighting. The book is well written though and the characters are likable. There are things that are so far-fetched, but it’s easy for me to overlook them. Also. I didn’t love the narrator, though it was good enough. Overall a very enjoyable book.
