The Many Lives of Mama Love: A Memoir of Lying, Stealing, Writing, and Healing by Lara Love Hardin

5.0

A phenomenal memoir of how a woman at such lows with 32 charges can repay her debt to society and then thrive when given the opportunity and space to change. It makes me think a lot about how an educated white woman can flounder after jail that it's even that much harder for those in more marginalized demographic groups.

This definitely has its gritty points, yet it's not *too* gritty. I liked the author's tone quite a bit, which was more matter-of-fact than I expected.

Check this one out if you're in the mood for a more redemptive memoir!
