Do Nothing: How to Break Away from Overworking, Overdoing, and Underliving by Celeste Headlee
4.0
I really appreciate it how this book took an initial look at the history behind how we ended up being such a work focus culture. Of course, every time I hear the name, Ford or Reagan I think about how failed we were at stopping these wicked men from influencing our culture for forever. One of the things that I didn’t like about the book, was how it was geared towards individuals who clearly worked more office space jobs. As someone who works in healthcare, I found it hard to relate to the idea of taking work home. Though I know that some who work in healthcare do take work home, the majority of individuals who are working with patients stop working with patient after they leave the hospital. One of the best parts was the ending, where she excellently summarized the ideas behind doing nothing, remaining idol, socializing with those who love, and really being intentional about why you decide to do the work that you do.
