The Green Mile by Stephen King

5.0

This is the best book of King’s I’ve read so far. It pulled me in immediately—sometimes with King, I have a hard time getting invested in the main characters but this one started strong and didn’t stop.

As one can probably guess based on the setting (a death row), this book can get dark and sad—I will freely admit to crying while reading it at my desk on my lunch break. But the characters have life and feeling and are just so compelling; I couldn’t put it down.
