Bombay is a city that saw me grow up too soon and too fast. I came into my own in the maximum city.
While I despised the size of houses there and the food, living in Bombay—albeit only for ten months—shaped me in many ways. And Bombay Balchão took me back to my time in the city I call my second home.
Set in the close-knit community of Cavel, Bombay Balchão by @janeborges87 covers the lives and times of the residents of Bosco Mansion from the 1940s till 2010.
This book has a lot of heart. It's like opening a box of assorted chocolates, and not knowing what you're going to get next. While you don't know whether you'll be biting into a hazelnut-flavoured chocolate or mint chocolate, it's simply thrilling to see what you have just unwrapped. Some stories are heart-warming, some are morose, some leave you wanting for more . . . but let me assure you, most of them will make you smile, especially the last one (it's like a beautifully tied ribbon on a present).
This book is as delicious as a cup of hot coffee on a cold winter morning and as relieving as a tall glass of iced Americano on a hot summer noon. What I'm trying to say is, everyone will find something to like in this 200-odd page book.
Whether you're looking to read a short and sweet book or want to get out of a slump, don't think twice, just get it.
